Independence Day

This Independence Day we started off at a flag-raising ceremony at Lyle's Dad's stake.  It was really an emotional ceremony for Lyle and I.  When they had all the veterans stand up during their branch's song I got tears in my eyes.  So did Lyle.  It was touching.  The whole service helped us to remember what we were celebrating.

After the flag raising, we went to the Harris' family house for breakfast.  The Harris' family lived by Lyle in Taylorsville and they do the breakfast every year.

After breakfast, we swam in Denise's pool at her apartment complex and then went to Lucas' house for dinner and fireworks!  Lyle just got home yesterday (oh happy day) and he had fun catching up on everything that happened while he was gone.  Sean just looked forward to lighting fireworks.  He loves that Lucas lets him help.  It was a wonderful 4th.  Spent with our favorite people.

Mother's Day

For the first time in the 13 years we've been married, I got to spend Mother's Day with my Mom!  It was so nice.  We celebrated Mother's Day with Lyle's family on Saturday with a bbq and presents and kite flying.  It was such a fun evening and I'm sure it's bound to be a new family tradition.  On Sunday we traveled down to Sigurd for Mother's Day.  Another reason we went down was because Creed was being ordained a Deacon.  It was a fun Sunday with more good food and visiting and lots of laughing.  I'm so blessed to have both sides of our families close by.
