Independence Day

This Independence Day we started off at a flag-raising ceremony at Lyle's Dad's stake.  It was really an emotional ceremony for Lyle and I.  When they had all the veterans stand up during their branch's song I got tears in my eyes.  So did Lyle.  It was touching.  The whole service helped us to remember what we were celebrating.

After the flag raising, we went to the Harris' family house for breakfast.  The Harris' family lived by Lyle in Taylorsville and they do the breakfast every year.

After breakfast, we swam in Denise's pool at her apartment complex and then went to Lucas' house for dinner and fireworks!  Lyle just got home yesterday (oh happy day) and he had fun catching up on everything that happened while he was gone.  Sean just looked forward to lighting fireworks.  He loves that Lucas lets him help.  It was a wonderful 4th.  Spent with our favorite people.

Sparky

Sean had a pet.  For like a month.  Maybe two months.  An adorable little dwarf hamster that Sean named Sparky.  Unfortunately, he roamed free in our home one too many times because his door was left open.  Dad gave the ultimatum (with full support from Mom) and he was given to a family with two young boys who had been begging for one.  I'm glad I got one nice picture of him before he moved away.

He's Home!

After a long, long week and a half in Albuquerque, New Mexico for a business trip...my Lyle-Bear is home!  Just in time for Independence Day celebrations.  We all missed him, but I never sleep quite right when he's not in bed with me.  He walked in the door today (an hour earlier than he told me he'd be home) and when I turned around I squealed and tackled him.  He just giggled and hugged me.  The times apart are hard, but the reunions are sweet!
